What I Can Do For You

What is Coaching and How Can it Benefit You?

Coaching is about partnership. It is a partnership between a coach and a client that is based upon mutual respect, trust and honesty. Through self-discovery, increased awareness and identification of alternative choices, the client is empowered to find their own solutions and pathways toward clearly identified goals. Sometimes clients simply want a sounding board in order to examine their thoughts, assumptions and feelings in a safe, non-judgmental environment. But all clients come to the coaching relationship because they want something to be different. With the coach’s support the client has the potential to find answers to the really important questions in their lives.

[symple_tab title=”Career & Leadership Coaching”]Identification and an in depth examination of your strengths, needs, interests, organizational focus, leadership and preferred work styles are key to determining what you were meant to do and how you do it. This simple but effective process takes into account what comes naturally for you and where your true inclinations lie. Fitting a square peg into a round hole simply will not work, particularly over time. What will work is aligning who you are and what you do best to specific fields of study, industries and job categories. Target positions, resume redesign or creation and interview preparation may be examined in detail depending your individual needs and aspirations. When you love what you do and focus on your strengths, the sky is the limit!

[symple_tab title=”Life Coaching”]Life Coaching addresses all of the challenges life can throw your way. The demands placed on all of us in our every day lives can feel overwhelming at times. Sorting out what really matters based on your values and your needs can provide an unprecedented clarity of purpose and vision. Obstacles become surmountable, priorities become clearer and decisions become makeable. Inertia is replaced by decisive thought and action. You suddenly feel lighter, happier and fulfilled. Coaching allows you to step back and observe the bigger picture, in order to respond in a way that reflects who you really want to be.

[symple_tab title=”Youth Specialty”]Wendy has developed a specialty and reputation for working with young people (ages 16-25).  It began in 2010 with her pro bono work for PACT, an organization dedicated to empowering at-risk youth and/or those in conflict with the law. With unprecedented success she began coaching young people from all backgrounds, demographics and life experiences in the areas of academic, career and personal life challenges. As an independent, objective professional she genuinely listens to the fears, worries and concerns of a generation faced with an entirely new set of problems than their parents. While emphasizing their strengths, Wendy helps them to define, sort out and confront life-altering issues, which allows them to figure out who they want to be and what will serve them best.  In 2013 Wendy’s work with PACT was honoured by the International Coaching Federation with the prestigious Prism Award.

The very BEST compliment I ever received was from a sixteen-year old boy who was asked by the Program Manager of the referring organization, “What would you like moving forward?”  He answered simply and matter of factly, “I would like it if there were two Wendy’s.”  With awe-inspiring insight and commitment, he was empowered to move forward in a more productive, positive direction and essentially turn his life around. By creating a trusting, non-judgmental atmosphere, he was able to explore who he was, who he really wanted to be, what was working and what wasn’t. I knew at that moment that what I was doing was making a difference.

[symple_tab title=”Trauma Informed Coaching”]

Many of my clients have experienced some kind of trauma. But what all my clients know is that something is significantly impeding their ability to move forward with their daily functioning, aspirations or goals. Trauma can be caused from any emotional or psychological event that is intensely stressful.

Causes may include but not limited to:

  • World Health Crisis (Covid)
  • Job Loss
  • Divorce or Relationship Breakup
  • Financial Difficulty
  • Health Issues or Serious Illness
  • Retirement
  • Miscarriage
  • Death
  • Witnessing a catastrophic event
Trauma manifests itself in many different forms:

  • Stress
  • Body Pain
  • Anxiety
  • Headaches
  • Increased heart rate
  • Lack of focus
  • Anger
  • Grief
  • Avoidance
  • Depression
  • Loss of libido
  • Addiction
Within a highly supportive and trusting environment that reflects YOUR unique needs and desires, you CAN move forward with a new, more positive outlook. Whether your goal is simply getting out of bed every day or climbing Mount Everest, together we will formulate a plan to move you from wherever you are now to where you want to be!

  • What would it mean to you to have a clear, positive vision of each day, one that you were energized and optimistic about?
  • How are you setting realistic, achievable and measurable steps?
  • What would it take for you to be motivated, even excited about your life again?
If you had difficulty answering any of these questions or there was a gap between your answer and your real life, you are NOT living your Best Life!
